7" Universal Combustion Blower with 3000 RPM Ball Bearing PSC motor, 5-3/4" 12 blade impeller, 3-5/8" overall height for stoves with minimal clearance . Mounting plate is just under 7" and has slotted holes to fit most stoves that use the 7" quick change blower like many of the Whitfield stoves. Gasket is included.
Highly efficient PSC motor draws 1/3 less power saving you money on electricity which is better for the environment. The lower power draw is also easier on your electronics. Not only do PSC motors draw less power they also run cooler which means they have a longer life expectancy than hot running shaded pole types. In a side-by-side test the original shaded pole motor from a CB1200 reached a temperature of 130 degrees F after running for 1 hour, our PSC blower reached only 83 degrees F after running for the same amount of time.
Please note that a PSC blower is NOT recommended for Quadrafire stoves due to controller compatibility issues. They will work, however, on any speed other than high there will be a noticable hum induced by harmonic distortion generated by the way the control board varies the speed of the motor. We have not found this to be an issue on other makes/models of stoves, this is especially true of pre-millenial stoves by manufacturers such as Whitfield, Lopi, Harman, etc. Most older control boards have the ability to adjust the draft (speed of the combustion blower), it is highly suggested that you have a professional stove technician calibrate your stove when switching to a PSC blower. On older stoves the draft was manually adjustable by a damper, in most cases these stoves simply run the combustion blower at full speed in which case calibration is likely not needed.
